Responsibility
- Lead the production calendar, rehearsals, tech weeks, and performance schedules from first rehearsal to final performance.
- Cue and run the show, supervise calls for dress rehearsals and performances, and manage communication among the director, designers, stage crew, and front of house.
- Maintain the production book, call sheets, prompt script, prop tracking, and continuity notes.
- Coordinate safety procedures, risk assessments, and compliance with venue and union policies.
- Oversee backstage operations, including prop, costume, and set movements, and coordinate with load-in and load-out teams.
- Collaborate with sound, lighting, and video operators to ensure technical cues execute flawlessly.
- Mentor and supervise assistant stage managers and run crew; manage conflicts and troubleshooting during rehearsals and performances.
- Communicate clearly with actors and staff to solve problems quickly and maintain performance quality.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in theater, stage production, or equivalent professional experience in live theater.
- Minimum 3-5 years of stage management experience in professional or regional theater.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication; collaborative leadership style.
- Proficiency with stage management software and cueing tools; familiarity with QLab or similar systems; strong note-taking and script tracking.
- Experience with safety regulations, rigging basics, and union guidelines (Actors' Equity Association preferred).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, tech weeks, and touring if needed.
