Overview MCC Technique is seeking a strategic and results-driven Project Director to lead large-scale, high-value engineering initiatives in Selangor, Malaysia. In this senior leadership role, you will provide executive direction and oversee cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet or exceed quality standards, budgets, and timelines. Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale engineering projects from concept to close-out, ensuring scope, quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, governance frameworks, and performance metrics to drive execution and accountability.
- Manage cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, and safety to optimize resources and collaboration.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; implement contingency plans and risk-based decision making.
- Engage with stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and partners; provide regular executive reporting on progress, issues, and mitigations.
- Oversee contract management and vendor performance, including procurement strategy, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations.
- Uphold safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across all project activities; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and develop project teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience delivering large-scale engineering projects; track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools; PMP or PgMP certification is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multi-million RM budgets and complex procurement processes; risk management experience.
- Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6; familiarity with BIM is a plus.
- Knowledge of Malaysian regulations, standards, and safety requirements; commitment to quality and compliance.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and work across multiple sites, with willingness to travel as required.
