Job description

Johnson Controls is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer, QA/QC to lead quality assurance and quality control for sophisticated construction projects across Malaysia. Based in the Petaling, Selangor region, you will collaborate with project managers, site teams, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure the delivery of compliant, defect-free installations on time and within budget. As a pivotal member of our project delivery team, you will implement and maintain robust QA/QC plans, conduct on-site inspections, review drawings and specifications, and drive continuous improvement across processes. Responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive QA/QC plans, inspection checklists, and quality metrics for construction projects.
  • Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections, tests, and audits of materials, workmanship, and installations to verify compliance with drawings, specs, and codes.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), perform root cause analyses, drive corrective and preventive actions, and follow through to closure.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and change orders to assess quality implications and propose solutions.
  • Collaborate with procurement and subcontractors to ensure received materials meet required quality standards and schedule commitments.
  • Lead QA/QC documentation control, maintain quality manuals, procedures, checklists, and turnover documentation (as-builts, O&M manuals).
  • Support commissioning and handover activities, including final inspections, test certificates, and quality sign-offs, while promoting safety and compliance.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services).
  • 3+ years of QA/QC experience in construction or building services projects, with exposure to HVCA/BMS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and relevant Malaysian codes and standards.
  • Proven ability to manage NCRs, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills; proficient with document control and quality software.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications, perform materials testing coordination, and support commissioning.
  • Proactive collaborator with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders; curiosity and problem-solving mindset.
