Pentronic Engineering is seeking a motivated Project Supervisor / Project Engineer to join our Penang team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical engineer who thrives in a dynamic construction environment and is passionate about delivering robust mechanical solutions on site.
The successful candidate will hold a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification and have at least 1 year of working experience on construction sites. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure that mechanical installations are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key activities include supervising site works, reviewing technical drawings, coordinating with suppliers, tracking progress, and coordinating changes through proper documentation. You will be responsible for QA QC checks, safety compliance, and daily reporting to stakeholders. The role also involves coordinating with procurement for equipment and materials, and ensuring installation aligns with project specifications. Responsibility
- Lead and supervise mechanical installation activities on site in Penang, ensuring workmanship meets design intent and project specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers clients consultants and subcontractors to align scope schedule and budget.
- Review drawings specifications and method statements; ensure compliance with codes standards and QA QC procedures.
- Monitor site progress allocate resources and resolve on site issues to keep projects on track.
- Manage procurement and delivery coordination for mechanical equipment parts and services; track deliveries and inventory.
- Conduct regular site inspections quality checks and safety audits; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare progress reports change orders and risk assessments; lead weekly site meetings and maintain proper documentation.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and mentor junior engineers or technicians on active projects.
Qualification
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in construction site supervision preferably in mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical installations piping HVAC or equipment integration; familiarity with drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MS Office and project management tools; ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent communication leadership and problem solving skills; ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Commitment to QA QC standards and safety regulations; ability to enforce site safety practices.
- Organized proactive and able to manage multiple tasks with a strong attention to detail.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
