Join Apex Surveying & GIS, a premium civil engineering and geospatial firm, as a Project Surveyor in Denver, Colorado. You will lead field operations and deliver accurate surveys for infrastructure, land development, and municipal projects. Responsibility
- Lead and perform boundary, ALTA/ACSM, topographic, construction stakeout, and control surveys using total stations and GNSS.
- Plan fieldwork, develop data collection strategies, and supervise survey crews onsite.
- Process field data into accurate maps, plats, and GIS-ready deliverables; ensure QA/QC before client submission.
- Prepare and check survey reports, sketches, and as-built documentation in compliance with local codes.
- Coordinate with design engineers, project managers, and clients to define deliverables and schedules.
- Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments; manage field notes, data backups, and equipment inventory.
- Support safety programs, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance on active sites.
- Contribute to business development by assisting with proposals and client relationships as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field. Licensed Professional Surveyor (PLS) preferred or eligibility to obtain within 12 months.
- 3+ years of field surveying experience with strong knowledge of boundary, topographic, and construction survey techniques.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS software, and data processing tools; familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus.
- Solid understanding of coordinate systems (NAD83, NAD27, UTM), datum transformations, and QA/QC processes.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; ability to work in varying field conditions.
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel to project sites as needed; some overnight travel may be required.
- Safety training including OSHA 10 or equivalent; prior experience with safety programs is preferred.
