We are seeking a motivated Public Health Analyst to join our Seattle based team dedicated to advancing population health and health equity. The ideal candidate translates complex public health data into actionable insights that inform local health departments, community organizations, and policymakers. You will collaborate across disciplines to build evidence based strategies that improve community health outcomes.
As part of our mission driven team, you will leverage data to support program design, evaluation, and policy development while upholding rigorous ethical standards and data privacy.
Responsibility
- Conduct surveillance and analysis of public health data to identify trends, disparities, and opportunities for intervention.
- Design and implement statistical analyses using SQL, R, Python, or SAS to answer key program questions.
- Develop data visualizations and dashboards for diverse stakeholders to support decision making.
- Collaborate with local health departments, community organizations, and policymakers to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Prepare technical reports, briefs, and summaries for varied audiences including funders and the public.
- Support program evaluation, performance measurement, and grant reporting.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and privacy in accordance with public health ethics and applicable regulations.
Qualification
- Bachelor or masters in public health, epidemiology, statistics, or a related field; masters preferred.
- 2+ years of public health data analysis experience in government, nonprofit, or research settings.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one statistical programming language (R, Python, SAS).
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and dashboard development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with public health surveillance systems and data governance, privacy, and ethics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
