As a Public Health Data Analyst, you will work with epidemiologists, program staff, and leadership to monitor population health, evaluate interventions, and inform policy decisions. You will translate data into clear stories that drive program improvements and equitable health outcomes.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain data dashboards that track key population health indicators across programs and populations.
- Analyze surveillance, program, and outcomes data to identify trends, disparities, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with epidemiologists, clinicians, and policy staff to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and reproducible analysis through documentation and version control.
- Prepare technical reports and policy briefs for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Support grant reporting and performance measurement by delivering timely analytics and insights.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, schemas, and documentation for health datasets.
- Communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences with clarity and impact.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, informatics, or a related field; master's preferred.
- 3+ years of practical data analysis experience with SQL; proficiency in R or Python.
- Experience with public health surveillance systems and health indicators.
- Strong data visualization skills using Tableau or Power BI to present insights to diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate data into policy-relevant recommendations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, and data privacy regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
