MCi Career Services is actively seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team in Singapore. This leadership role focuses on cost planning, measurement, budgeting, and contract administration across mid to large scale projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within approved budgets, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and value.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of cost estimating, quantity take-offs, procurement support, and change management. You will prepare monthly cost reports, monitor cash flow, and assist with tender submissions. You will also play a critical role in risk assessment and value engineering to maximize project value while protecting the client’s financial position. This position is based in Tai Seng, North-East Region, Singapore. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Responsibility
- Lead cost planning, budgeting, and cost-control throughout the project lifecycle from feasibility to handover.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, bid/tender documentation, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Monitor project cash flow, track expenditures, and produce timely monthly cost reports for stakeholders.
- Manage variations, change orders, claims, and value engineering to protect the client’s financial position.
- Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and suppliers to resolve cost-related issues and ensure timely procurement.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, measurement standards, and regulatory requirements across projects.
- Support tender submissions with robust cost plans, risk assessments, and commercial recommendations.
- Mentor junior quantity surveyors and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum 5 years of quantity surveying experience in construction, with strong cost control and contract administration exposure.
- Proficiency in measurement and estimating software (CostX, WinQS) and advanced Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of standard forms of contract, procurement, and subcontract management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work in Singapore with a proactive, detail-oriented approach and strong time management.
- Professional certification (MRICS, CIPS, or equivalent) is an advantage.
