We seek dedicated professionals who can work evenings and weekends, manage game flow, and communicate decisions clearly to players and coaches. Training and ongoing development are provided to sharpen your officiating skills.
Responsibility
- Officiate matches in accordance with the Laws of the Game and sport-specific policies.
- Maintain game flow, timekeeping, substitutions, and restart procedures.
- Enforce rules, address fouls and misconduct, and manage on-field conflicts with calm authority.
- Conduct pre-match checks, verify equipment, and ensure venue safety standards.
- Communicate decisions clearly to players, coaches, and venue staff; collaborate with head referees.
- Complete accurate match reports and incident logs within required timelines.
- Uphold professional conduct and integrity as a representative of the federation.
Qualification
- Minimum 2 years of refereeing experience in competitive matches (football soccer or equivalent sport).
- Current accreditation from a recognized governing body (eg Football Australia Referee Certification or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of the Laws of the Game and consistent decision-making.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership abilities.
- High physical fitness and the stamina to cover the full duration of matches.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and regional travel within Sydney.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to fair play and safety.
- References from previous officiating assignments.
