We are seeking a data-driven Sports Performance Analyst to translate athlete data into actionable training, recovery, and competition strategies. This role blends sports science, data analytics, and collaboration with coaching and medical staff to optimize performance and reduce injury risk.
As a key member of our performance team, you will design evidence-based programs, oversee monitoring systems, and contribute to a culture of excellence.
Responsibility
- Lead collection, validation, and interpretation of performance data from GPS, heart rate, GPS-based metrics, laboratory tests, and match analytics.
- Translate data into practical training prescriptions, recovery protocols, and competition plans in collaboration with coaches and sports medicine staff.
- Design and oversee data-driven monitoring systems to track athlete readiness, loads, fatigue, and injury risk.
- Develop and implement performance dashboards, reports, and visualization tools for coaching staff and management.
- Support periodization and sprint/conditioning programs with evidence-based methods and ongoing performance reviews.
- Assist in evaluating equipment, testing protocols, and technology partnerships to optimize data quality and usability.
- Travel for in-season events, camps, and performance meetings as required.
- Champion a culture of integrity, privacy, and ethical data use in line with league and organization policies.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, biomechanics, data science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a professional sports environment; leadership or analytics-focused roles preferred.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Python or R, SQL) and visualization platforms (Tableau or Power BI); strong Excel skills.
- Hands-on experience with GPS/tracking systems, HRV, and performance testing; knowledge of injury risk assessment and load management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with coaches, medical staff, and front-office personnel.
- Willingness to travel and flexible schedule to support in-season and out-of-season activities.
- Professional certifications such as CSCS, SCCC, or equivalent are a plus.
