Searchasia, a globally established multinational corporation in the semiconductor sector, is actively seeking a Regional Quality Engineering Director to lead quality strategy across Asia from Singapore’s Central Region. This executive role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution to ensure product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction across multiple sites and suppliers.
In this role, you will shape and deploy a regional quality management framework, drive continuous improvement, and partner with manufacturing, R&D, supply chain, and system integration teams to deliver defect-free products while meeting stringent regulatory and customer requirements. You will mentor a regional quality engineering team, foster a culture of quality excellence, and communicate progress to regional and global leadership. The position offers high visibility, influencing quality strategy across the semiconductor value chain in Asia.
Key responsibilities include building robust QMS aligned with ISO 9001, performing risk assessments, overseeing internal and external audits, and implementing CAPA programs across sites; overseeing supplier quality and supplier development, and leading NPI quality gates for new product introductions. The role requires data-driven decision making, strong collaboration with operations and engineering, and an ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
We are seeking a proven leader with deep semiconductor quality experience, executive presence, and a track record of delivering measurable quality improvements while supporting growth and regional expansion. The ideal candidate will have excellent cross-cultural communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to travel regionally as needed.
Responsibility
- Define and implement the regional quality strategy for Asia across all semiconductor manufacturing, assembly, and test operations to ensure best-in-class product quality and reliability.
- Lead the Quality Management System, drive ISO 9001 compliance, coordinate internal and external audits, CAPA programs, and management reviews across sites.
- Oversee regional supplier quality management, including supplier qualification, performance monitoring, development plans, and risk mitigation to ensure supply chain integrity.
- Drive quality for new product introductions (NPI) and product changes, establishing design for quality, PFMEA, FMEA risk controls, and robust process validation through DFM and DFx.
- Implement data-driven quality metrics and dashboards, monitor quality KPIs, identify trends, and present actionable insights to regional leadership.
- Lead cross-functional teams with Manufacturing, R&D, Operations, and Customer Support to resolve complex quality issues and ensure timely corrective actions meeting customer expectations.
- Build and mentor a high-performing regional quality engineering team, set performance expectations, provide coaching, succession planning, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Materials, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 12-15 years of progressive experience in quality engineering within the semiconductor or high-tech electronics sector; prior regional or global leadership experience preferred.
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 quality management systems across multiple sites; auditing and compliance background.
- Strong knowledge of quality methodologies and tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, DOE) and experience with NPI quality gates.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification; data-driven decision making and KPI management.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management with ability to influence cross-functionally across different cultures and geographies.
- Experience with supplier quality management, supplier development, audits, and quality contract management; strong communication and presentation skills; willingness to travel regionally (up to 40-60%).
