Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to birthing families in hospital and community settings.
  • Lead and support labour and birth with emphasis on safety, informed consent, and evidence-based practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized birth plans through shared decision-making with families and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, identify deviations, and escalate concerns promptly.
  • Educate clients on childbirth options, pain management, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postnatal recovery.

Qualification

  • Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA (Australia) or eligible for registration.
