Responsibility
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in a high-acuity unit, assessing needs and prioritizing interventions.
- Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and respond to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers to develop and adjust care plans.
- Document all patient interactions and care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Lead patient and family education on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Ensure infection control, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support discharge planning and coordinate transfers as needed for continuity of care.
Qualification
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of New York
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing with current licensure
- Minimum 2 years of acute care clinical experience
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities
- Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
- Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends
