Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions according to physician orders and hospital policy.
- Develop and update individualized care plans, document progress, and ensure timely communications with the care team.
- Monitor patient safety, prevent falls, and support infection prevention and control protocols.
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and social workers to optimize discharge planning and post-acute care.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and self-care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, patient rights, and regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based training to maintain clinical excellence.
Qualification
- Current registered nursing license (RN) in Massachusetts or eligibility for licensure by endorsement.
- BSN preferred; ADN candidates with commitment to continued education will be considered.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of acute care experience in a hospital setting.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; patient- and family-centered care.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating shifts and weekends as needed.
