Responsibility
- Provide direct patient care in the Medical-Surgical unit, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols with precision and safety.
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and communicate critical information to the care team promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to coordinate admission, care transitions, and discharge planning.
- Document accurately in the Electronic Health Record and ensure compliance with regulatory and evidence-based standards.
- Advocate for patients and families, delivering education and support to enhance outcomes and satisfaction.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, infection control, and patient safety initiatives.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to ongoing professional development for the team.
Qualification
- Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of New York or the ability to obtain licensure without restrictions.
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted with relevant medical-surgical experience.
- Active CPR/BLS certification; ACLS certification favored for acute care settings.
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient nursing experience in a medical-surgical or similar acute care environment.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and basic clinical technologies.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
