As an ED RN, you will triage, assess, and treat patients with diverse conditions, collaborate with physicians and support staff, and ensure patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate embraces teamwork, demonstrates critical thinking, and upholds the highest standards of care.
Responsibility
- Provide high-quality nursing care to ED patients, including triage, assessment, stabilization, and frequent reassessment.
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and manage IV therapies and injections with precision.
- Collaborate with physicians, PAs, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
- Document patient information accurately in the EHR and ensure clear handoffs during shift changes.
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, medications, and safety planning.
- Maintain infection control standards, equipment readiness, and safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.
- Respond to code and rapid response events, participating in team-based resuscitation efforts as needed.
Qualification
- Valid NYS RN license or eligibility for licensure in New York.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years of emergency department, trauma, or acute care experience.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and rapid decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; calm under pressure.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (Epic or similar) and clinical documentation.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
