Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and triage to prioritize patient needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including IV therapies as ordered.
- Provide wound care, infection control, and post-operative care as applicable.
- Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and self-care.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record and monitor quality metrics.
Qualification
- Current New York State registered professional nurse license or eligible for licensure.
- BSN preferred; ADN with plan to pursue BSN within a specified timeframe.
- Minimum 1-3 years of hospital experience in Medical-Surgical setting.
- Basic Life Support BLS certification; ACLS certification may be required for some units.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends.
