As an RN on our Medical-Surgical unit you will assess patient conditions, administer medications, monitor vital signs, coordinate care plans, educate patients and families, and escalate concerns to the care team promptly. Responsibility

  • Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients, including assessments and intervention planning.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, document responses, and monitor for adverse effects.
  • Monitor patient status, vital signs, pain levels, and clinical trends; escalate changes promptly.
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and self-care after discharge.
  • Ensure accurate and complete charting in the EMR; maintain HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.
  • Participate in rounding, care coordination, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support a culture of safety by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualification

  • Current California RN license or eligibility; willingness to obtain licensure.
  • BSN preferred; associates degree with strong clinical experience considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
  • Current CPR/BLS; ACLS preferred or required per unit policy.
  • Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered care orientation.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and medication administration.
  • Ability to work in rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
