Job description

SolaraTech Energy Corp is a leading developer of utility scale renewable energy solutions. We design, finance, build and operate solar and wind projects across the United States. We are seeking a results-driven Renewable Energy Project Engineer to join our Austin team and drive project delivery from concept through commissioning.

In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, ensure compliance, and accelerate project timelines while elevating safety and quality standards across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Responsibility

  • Lead technical design and engineering for solar and wind projects, ensuring code compliance and performance targets
  • Develop and review project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Perform energy yield modeling, interconnection studies, and support permitting and utility engagement
  • Manage supplier and contractor relationships, evaluate equipment proposals, and provide procurement support
  • Prepare technical documentation, RFPs, and change orders; oversee QA/QC during design and build
  • Support commissioning, performance testing, and handover to operations with post-startup optimization
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance and actively manage project risk throughout the lifecycle

Qualification

  • Bachelor or higher in electrical, mechanical, civil or renewable energy engineering; master degree preferred
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience in solar, wind, or energy storage project engineering
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, IEC and local permitting requirements
  • Proficiency with energy modeling and design tools such as PVSyst, Helioscope, PVcase, AutoCAD
  • Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Professional Engineer license or eligibility preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 25 for site visits and project meetings
