Research Assistant in Quantum Information

Responsibility
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment for quantum information experiments, including calibration and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with faculty and researchers to design, plan, and execute experimental protocols for quantum computing, communication, and error-correction tasks.
- Acquire, process, and analyze experimental data; apply statistical methods; generate figures and concise summaries for reports.
- Develop and adapt software tools for data analysis, simulation, or control (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar languages).
- Contribute to literature reviews, keep up-to-date with advances in quantum information theory and experimental methods.
- Maintain meticulous lab notebook records and ensure safety, compliance, and quality standards.
- Present findings in team meetings and assist with preparing manuscripts or conference materials.
- Support grant and project reporting as needed and coordinate with collaborators across disciplines.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, computer science, or a related field; coursework in quantum information is a plus.
- Foundational knowledge of quantum information concepts and quantum computing principles.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory experiments and data analysis; familiarity with lab safety.
- Programming skills in Python and MATLAB; ability to analyze data and visualize results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team; ability to document methods and results clearly.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing tasks in a research environment.
