Responsibility
- Lead and supervise on-site road construction crews, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate daily work plans, material deliveries, equipment availability, and subcontractor activities.
- Enforce safety protocols, conduct on-site risk assessments, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Read and interpret project drawings, specifications, and GPS data to guide excavation, grading, paving, and finishing.
- Oversee quality control, compaction, asphalt paving, curb and sidewalk installation, and drainage work.
- Manage coordination with inspectors, clients, and municipality representatives to meet project milestones.
- Monitor progress, track costs, and adjust schedules to maintain on-time completion.
- Maintain equipment, report maintenance needs, and ensure site housekeeping and compliance with environmental standards.
Qualification
- 3+ years of road construction or heavy civil experience with a track record of delivering pavement projects.
- OSHA 10/29 certification or willingness to obtain; valid safety training credentials.
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred for driving or operating certain equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, grade plans, and GPS-based layout data.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (roller, asphalt paver, skid steer) or strong familiarity with paving processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; customer-facing as needed.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in construction a plus.
