In this full-time role, you will manage daily field operations, coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, enforce safety standards, and monitor quality control. This is a hands-on leadership position with growth opportunities into project management and operations leadership.
What you’ll do: lead field crews, enforce schedule, manage resources, conduct daily safety briefings, inspect workmanship, document progress, and communicate with stakeholders to keep projects on track.
Responsibility
- Lead and coordinate road construction crews on active projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Plan daily activities, allocate manpower and equipment, and manage subcontractors to optimize productivity.
- Enforce OSHA standards, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain a safe job site with zero incidents where possible.
- Review blueprints and specifications with engineers, inspect materials, and ensure adherence to design tolerances.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and adjust plans to mitigate delays and maintain budgets.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, field logs, and communication with project managers and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with suppliers, trucking, and equipment vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of field experience in road construction or heavy civil projects.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Proficient with basic construction tools and heavy equipment operation; CDL license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA 10/30) and project documentation practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform demanding field work in various weather conditions.
