We are seeking a results-driven Road Construction Project Engineer to lead on-site operations, uphold safety standards, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality asphalt and concrete pavements.

Responsibility

  • Oversee daily road construction operations on assigned projects, ensuring work progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and utility teams to align scope and sequencing.
  • Lead safety programs, conduct site safety briefings, and enforce OSHA and company policies.
  • Plan temporary traffic control, detour routing, and site layout to minimize disruption and maintain public safety.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and geotechnical data; resolve design issues in the field.
  • Manage materials, equipment, and subcontractor scheduling; track delivery and inventory.
  • Monitor quality control and material testing for asphalt, concrete, and base course; ensure compliance with specs.
  • Prepare progress reports, daily logs, change orders, and closeout documentation for stakeholders.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.
  • 5+ years of road construction experience, including asphalt and concrete pavement projects.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints, plans, and geotechnical reports; proficient in field surveying tools.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills; ability to manage diverse crews and subcontractors.
  • Solid knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO guidelines, and OSHA safety standards; valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
  • Experience with project management software and mobile field management tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid).
