Pioneer Road Constructors is seeking a results-driven Road Construction Project Foreman to join our Phoenix, AZ team. This role leads field crews, coordinates with engineers and inspectors, and ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
In this role you will manage daily site activities, enforce safety protocols, read and interpret plans, and collaborate across departments to optimize workflow. Responsibility
- Lead daily on-site operations for road and highway projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors to execute work safely and efficiently.
- Plan and assign tasks, monitor progress, and adjust resources to maintain schedule milestones.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety policies; conduct regular toolbox talks and safety observations.
- Manage quality control measures, review daily reports, and resolve field issues promptly.
- Mentor and supervise crew leads, conduct performance feedback, and foster a culture of accountability.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and permits; ensure accurate takeoffs and material ordering.
- Document progress with accurate field reports, photos, and change orders as needed.
Qualification
- 5+ years in road construction or heavy civil projects, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of earthwork, drainage, asphalt, and concrete paving processes.
- Experience reading plans, specs, and utility layouts; familiarity with QA/QC procedures.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage crews and subcontractors.
- OSHA 10/30 certification; valid state driver’s license; Class A or B CDL preferred.
- Proficiency with construction management software and field reporting tools; basic MS Office skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and lift up to 50 lbs; willing to travel to project sites.
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education in Construction Management or Civil Engineering a plus.
