Job description
Atlas Roads & Infrastructure is seeking a results-driven Road Construction Project Lead to oversee critical highway and street projects in the Houston metro area. You will lead field crews, coordinate with utilities and inspectors, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery on site.
In this role you will combine hands-on leadership with strategic oversight to drive successful outcomes for complex road projects from planning through completion.
What you will do in short order: manage field operations, monitor progress against schedule and budget, enforce safety programs, and communicate with stakeholders to maintain seamless collaboration across teams.
Responsibility
- Lead on site road construction activities including earthwork, drainage, paving, and roadway structures
- Supervise foremen and crews; ensure productivity while maintaining safety standards
- Coordinate with utilities, inspectors, and subcontractors to avoid delays
- Monitor project schedule, cost, and quality metrics; report variances and mitigation plans
- Review blueprints and specifications; ensure work aligns with design intent
- Implement and enforce site safety programs; conduct regular toolbox talks
- Maintain thorough documentation including daily reports, change orders, and material receipts
- Collaborate with project managers to forecast risks and implement corrective actions
Qualification
- 5+ years of road construction or civil site supervision experience
- Proven track record delivering road paving, earthworks, and drainage projects
- Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and geotechnical data
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour construction safety certification
- Valid driver's license; ability to operate in field environments and lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience coordinating with utilities, inspectors, and subcontractors
