Join Pioneer Roads & Civil Constructors, a leading firm delivering major highway and urban street projects across Texas. We are seeking a results-driven Road Construction Project Manager to lead on-site operations, drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence, and collaborate with engineers, inspectors, and clients.
As a Project Manager, you will oversee field teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage change orders, and ensure compliance with all regulations and standards. This role offers a clear path to leadership and competitive compensation in a fast-paced, safety-first environment.
Responsibility
- Lead on-site coordination of road construction projects from mobilization through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Manage field personnel and subcontractors, assign resources, monitor productivity, and resolve issues promptly.
- Review plans, drawings, specs, and material lists; respond to RFIs and manage change orders effectively.
- Develop and track project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project; maintain critical path and milestone tracking.
- Oversee quality control, testing, materials compliance, compaction, paving, drainage, and traffic control coordination.
- Enforce site safety programs, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure OSHA compliance and incident reporting.
- Coordinate with owners, inspectors, and traffic management authorities to minimize disruption and maintain public safety.
- Prepare daily site diaries, progress reports, and cost forecasts; manage risk and ensure project profitability.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management; or equivalent field experience on road and highway projects.
- 5+ years of road construction or heavy civil project experience; leadership role preferred.
- Professional Engineer license (PE) is preferred or an active path; strong understanding of civil design and specs.
- Proven ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specs, and RFI/change orders; proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and site safety programs; certification such as OSHA 30 is a plus.
- Experience with project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and shared document control systems; basic GIS knowledge is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as required.
