Join a dynamic project team as a Safety Officer in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte. As a Private Advertiser role, you will be responsible for safeguarding workers and ensuring compliance with national regulations and industry best practices on construction sites. This contract/temporary position offers a stable monthly salary of ₱20,000 and opportunities to advance your safety career while making a real impact.
As a Safety Officer, you will champion a culture of safety by applying rigorous inspection routines, risk assessments, incident investigations, and ongoing safety training. You will work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and workers to identify hazards, implement preventive measures, and monitor the effectiveness of safety controls. You will also manage permit-to-work processes, track corrective actions, and coordinate toolbox talks to keep crews informed and engaged.
Key responsibilities include developing and enforcing site safety policies, leading safety briefings, conducting regular site inspections, investigating incidents and near-misses, managing PPE programs, and ensuring compliance with Philippine safety regulations and project-specific requirements. You will prepare safety documentation, maintain records, and report safety performance to project stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you should have a degree in safety management or a related field, professional safety certifications (for example NEBOSH or IOSH), and hands-on experience in construction safety. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond calmly to emergencies.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement site-specific safety plans and policies
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments on site
- Manage permits-to-work, lockout/tagout, and safe operating procedures
- Lead toolbox talks and safety training sessions for all personnel
- Investigate incidents and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions
- Monitor PPE usage and ensure availability and compliance
- Coordinate with project teams to enforce safety standards and correct unsafe practices
- Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance with DOLE and local regulations
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Professional safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or DOLE Safety Officer)
- Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience
- Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective actions
- Familiarity with Philippine safety regulations (DOLE, OSHA Philippines, etc.)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork; fluent in English and Filipino
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to respond effectively in emergencies
