Harborview Preparatory School is seeking a compassionate and results oriented School Guidance Counselor to join our student services team in Boston. The ideal candidate will provide counseling, academic planning, and career guidance to a diverse student body, fostering resilience and personal growth.
As a key member of the Student Services department, you will collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and external partners to implement proactive supports and data driven interventions that improve student outcomes.

Responsibility
- Provide confidential individual and small-group counseling to students addressing academics, social-emotional development, and career planning.
- Conduct systematic needs assessments, screen for risk factors, and design targeted intervention plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create proactive behavioral and academic supports.
- Develop and deliver classroom guidance lessons on study skills, college and career exploration, and mental health awareness.
- Coordinate referral processes to campus and community resources and monitor progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data to inform program improvements and compliance.
Qualification
- Master's degree in Counseling, School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a School Counselor in Massachusetts (or equivalent state licensure).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a K-12 school environment (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of academic planning, career development, and evidence-based counseling practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and crisis management skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning.
