Responsibility
- Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned Mathematics lessons for grades 9-12, covering algebra, geometry, statistics, and calculus as appropriate.
- Monitor student progress, administer assessments, and provide timely feedback to students and caregivers.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, including ELL students and those with IEPs.
- Plan and implement formative and summative assessments, analyze data to inform instruction, and adjust pacing as needed.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment with effective behavior management and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with department colleagues to develop curriculum maps, share best practices, and participate in school-wide initiatives.
- Engage families through regular communication and parent-teacher conferences as required.
- Integrate technology and digital resources to enhance learning and student engagement.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; teaching credential or eligible for certification in New York State.
- Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience at the secondary level preferred.
- Strong understanding of standards-based grading and data-informed instruction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems (Google Classroom, Canvas, etc.).
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive, professional school culture.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
