Responsibility
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction to secondary students (Grades 9-12) across assigned subject areas.
- Develop and implement unit plans, assessments, and rubrics that reflect curriculum goals and student needs.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including ELLs and students with learning exceptionalities.
- Monitor and report student progress; provide timely feedback to students, parents, and administrators.
- Collaborate with department colleagues to plan cross-curricular projects and align with school-wide initiatives.
- Integrate technology and 21st-century skills to enhance learning outcomes and digital literacy.
- Establish a respectful, inclusive classroom environment with clear routines and high expectations.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a subject-specific degree with teaching certification (Ontario College of Teachers or eligible).
- Ontario Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain it in the near term.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at the secondary level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Curriculum standards, assessment practices, and differentiation strategies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with students, families, and staff.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student well-being; culturally responsive pedagogy.
- Proficiency with educational technology, learning management systems, and data-driven instruction.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, including participation in after-school programs and clubs.
