Responsibility
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction to secondary students across designated subject areas.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and promote equity.
- Design and assess unit plans, quizzes, projects, and performance tasks that measure growth.
- Monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, counselors, and families to support holistic student development.
- Integrate technology effectively (learning management systems, digital tools, data analytics) to enhance learning.
- Establish a positive, inclusive classroom culture with clear routines and high expectations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to curriculum improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject area; valid teaching license/certification for New York or eligible for licensure.
- Minimum 2+ years of secondary classroom teaching experience preferred; strong novice exceptions considered.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to differentiate instruction and assess student learning using data-driven methods.
- Knowledge of state standards (e.g., NYS Next Generation Learning Standards) and assessment best practices.
- Proficiency with educational technology (Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms).
- Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and culturally responsive teaching.
