Responsibility
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons for grades 9–12 across core subjects.
- Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative methods and maintain accurate records.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners' needs and promote equity in the classroom.
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and safe classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, assessments, and school-wide initiatives.
- Incorporate technology and inquiry-based learning to enhance student outcomes.
- Engage with families to communicate student growth and support plans.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to school improvement efforts.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related subject area; valid teaching license or certification for Illinois, or eligibility to obtain one.
- At least 1 year of classroom teaching experience or student teaching in secondary education.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current secondary education best practices and standards.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning.
- Experience with data-driven instruction, assessment literacy, and progress monitoring.
- Proficiency with educational technology, learning management systems, and digital resources.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute to a professional learning community.
