About the role
As a Secondary School Teacher, you will plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons for students aged 11-18 across Key Stages 3-5 in your subject area. You will differentiate instruction, use data to monitor progress, and provide timely feedback to students and parents. You will contribute to department planning, assessment design, and extra-curricular initiatives that enrich learning beyond the classroom.
Responsibility
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons for Key Stage 3-5 in your subject, aligning with the national curriculum.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners and monitor progress with data-driven approaches.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that supports student wellbeing.
- Collaborate with the department to design schemes of work, assessments, and resources.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents; track progress and adapt approaches accordingly.
- Contribute to safeguarding, welfare, and pastoral guidance within the year group.
- Lead or contribute to after-school clubs, enrichment programs, and digital learning initiatives.
Qualification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject and strong subject knowledge.
- Experience teaching GCSE and, if possible, A-Levels; ability to design engaging, standards-aligned lessons.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, student welfare, and inclusive education.
- Proficiency with digital learning tools (Google Classroom, MS/Office, interactive whiteboards).
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills to support diverse learners.
- Willingness to contribute to school life beyond the classroom (clubs, events).
