As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will drive pricing, reserving, and product development initiatives across life and health segments, collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-impact results.
Responsibility
- Lead actuarial analyses for pricing, reserving, and product development across life and health lines.
- Develop, validate, and maintain complex actuarial models (cash flow testing, stochastic modeling, LDTI frameworks).
- Collaborate with underwriting, finance, data science, and IT to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Prepare regulatory filings, actuarial opinions, and management reports for clients.
- Communicate findings to clients and leadership; present complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Mentor junior analysts and support project management across engagements.
- Leverage Excel, R/Python, SQL, and specialized actuarial software (Prophet, AXIS) to deliver robust solutions.
Qualification
- Bachelorβs degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; progress through actuarial exams (SOA/CAS) or equivalent.
- 2-5+ years of actuarial experience in pricing, reserving, or valuation within life, health, or P&C sectors.
- Strong modeling and analytical skills; proficient in Excel; experience with R, Python, and SQL.
- Experience with actuarial software such as Prophet or AXIS; familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple projects and client expectations.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada and willing to relocate to the Toronto area.
