Job description

SummitBridge Insurance Group is seeking a results-driven Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our expanding actuarial team in New York City. You will influence pricing strategies, reserve assessments, and risk models across diverse lines of business.

In this role, you will collaborate with Finance, Underwriting, Product, and Data Science to translate complex data into actionable insights, support regulatory filings, and mentor junior analysts. You will have a strong foundation in actuarial modeling and a passion for turning data into strategic decisions.

Responsibility

  • Lead pricing and rate-making analyses for multiple product lines; build, validate, and maintain pricing models; monitor profitability and experience deviations.
  • Develop and review reserve estimates; monitor loss development patterns; coordinate with Finance for accurate financial reporting.
  • Design and maintain risk models and scenario analyses to quantify volatility and capital needs.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Product, and Data Science to translate insights into pricing, product design, and business strategy.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and documentation for all actuarial models and analyses.
  • Prepare regulatory filings and management reports; present insights to senior leadership.
  • Mentor and coach junior actuarial staff; contribute to exam progress and knowledge sharing.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Progress toward actuarial designation (ASA/FCAS or SOA/FCAS) with 2-4 exams completed; continued exam progression expected.
  • 3-7 years of actuarial pricing, reserving, or risk modeling experience in insurance.
  • Strong technical skills: SQL, R, Python, and Excel; experience with SAS is a plus; familiarity with Prophet or GGY AXIS is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and financial reporting (IFRS/GAAP) relevant to insurance.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and project management abilities; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
