As a Senior Agriculturist, you will oversee planning, execution, and evaluation of provincial agriculture initiatives, including extension services, crop management, soil health, irrigation, and post-harvest systems. You will collaborate with farmers, cooperatives, local government units, and national agencies to promote climate-smart farming, value chain development, and resource stewardship. You will monitor program outcomes, manage budgets and procurement, and mentor a team of agricultural professionals to ensure high impact results.

Responsibility
- Lead and supervise provincial agriculture programs and extension services to boost productivity and farm incomes.
- Develop and implement policy recommendations, project plans, and performance metrics for agriculture programs in Catanduanes.
- Provide technical guidance on crop production, soil management, irrigation and water resource management, pest and disease control, and post-harvest handling.
- Coordinate with farmers, cooperatives, LGUs, and national agencies to deliver effective extension services and trainings.
- Oversee budgeting, procurement planning, and program monitoring to ensure timely delivery of services and compliance with CSC guidelines.
- Lead capacity-building initiatives, mentor staff and field technicians, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare periodic reports, data analyses, and policy briefs to inform decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Represent the province in inter-agency and public engagements, promoting best practices in sustainable agriculture and rural development.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, or a closely related field; master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in agriculture extension, research, or program management; supervisory experience required.
- Strong knowledge of crop production systems, soil science, irrigation/water management, pest and disease control, and post-harvest technologies.
- Familiarity with Philippine government policies, budgeting, procurement, and project management; ability to navigate CSC rules.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; proven ability to engage with farmers, LGUs, and partner institutions.
- Data-driven with strong analytical skills and proficiency in standard software (MS Office), basic data visualization; experience with GIS is a plus.
- Philippine Civil Service eligibility (Professional) or appropriate equivalent; willingness to travel within the province.
