NovaChem Therapeutics is at the forefront of innovative chemistry solutions for pharmaceutical discovery and development. We are seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to join our Cambridge, MA team. This role combines hands-on method development with strategic collaboration to enable rapid decision-making and high-quality data generation.
In this role, you will contribute to the design and execution of analytical strategies that support drug discovery programs, ensure data integrity, and uphold GLP/GMP compliance.
Responsibility
- Lead development and validation of analytical methods (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR) to support discovery and development programs.
- Transfer validated methods to QC and manufacturing with robust documentation and training support.
- Design and execute experiments, perform data analysis, and prepare clear reports for cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with GLP, GMP, and ISO standards; participate in internal and external audits.
- Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation; oversee preventive maintenance and calibration schedules.
- Collaborate with R&D, QA, and Process Development to optimize formulations and manufacturing processes.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the development of the analytical chemistry group.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in analytical method development and validation in a pharma/biotech setting.
- Proficiency with HPLC, UHPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR, and related analytical platforms; experience with data analysis software (Empower, MassLynx, ChemStation).
- Strong understanding of GLP/GMP requirements and regulatory guidelines; experience with method transfers and QA documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong experimental design and statistical analysis skills; familiarity with DOE is a plus.
