Lumen Architecture Studio is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to join our dynamic NYC practice. We design innovative, sustainable spaces for cultural, commercial, and civic projects. This role blends design leadership, technical excellence, and client collaboration to deliver compelling spaces from concept through construction.
As a Senior Architect, you will lead design teams, oversee project delivery, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and mentor junior staff. You will collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and the broader design team to translate vision into built form.

Responsibility
- Lead architectural design development for complex projects from concept through construction documents.
- Manage project delivery, scheduling, and coordination with consultants and clients to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Develop and present design concepts, massing studies, and material/finishes strategies.
- Prepare and supervise construction documentation using BIM (Revit) and AutoCAD; coordinate with structural and MEP engineers.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility standards, and sustainability targets.
- Mentor junior designers, participate in design reviews, and contribute to firm marketing and proposals.
Qualification
- Accredited degree in Architecture; licensure as a registered architect preferred.
- 8+ years of professional experience in architecture, with hands-on leadership of medium-to-large projects.
- Proficiency in BIM (Revit), AutoCAD, and visualization tools; familiarity with Rhino/SketchUp a plus.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning, accessibility, and environmental/sustainability standards (LEED/WELL).
- Demonstrated design excellence, strong presentation skills, and ability to communicate conceptually and technically.
- Excellent collaboration, leadership, and project management abilities; adept at coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
