NovaForma Architecture is seeking a Senior Project Architect to lead sustainable urban design projects in New York City. This role blends design excellence with practical project leadership, guiding teams from concept through construction while delivering responsible, high‑performance buildings.
As a key member of our studio, you will collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to translate visionary ideas into buildable solutions that meet budget, schedule, and code requirements. You will mentor junior staff, drive quality control, and ensure projects achieve ambitious sustainability targets.
Responsibility
- Lead design development, technical documentation, and construction phase services for multiple projects from concept through completion.
- Develop and manage BIM models in Revit; coordinate with structural, MEP, and landscape consultants to ensure integrated deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and sustainability targets (LEED, Net-Zero, WELL criteria as applicable).
- Mentor and supervise design staff; conduct design reviews and contribute to studio benchmarks and best practices.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders; present design proposals and facilitate decision-making processes.
- Oversee quality control, coordination drawings, and RFI/submittal processes during construction administration.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risk, and resource planning to ensure on-time delivery and profitability.
Qualification
- Accredited professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor or Master); Licensed Architect strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of professional architecture experience with demonstrated design leadership and project management capability.
- Proficiency in Revit; experience with Rhino/Grasshopper and AutoCAD; strong BIM coordination skills.
- Solid knowledge of building codes, standards, and systems; LEED AP or WELL certification is a plus.
- Impressive design portfolio showcasing sustainable urban design projects and high-quality presentations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills; ability to manage cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, workloads, and travel to site as required.
