Job description

We are seeking a Senior Architect to join a premier design studio in New York City. This role leads design excellence across projects, from concept to construction, delivering sustainable, human-centered architecture.

As a Senior Architect, you will mentor junior staff, oversee technical documentation, coordinate with consultants, and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements. Proficiency in BIM workflows and strong presentation skills are essential.

Responsibility

  • Lead design development for multiple projects from concept through construction.
  • Develop architectural concepts, design rationales, and present to clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee technical documentation, coordination drawings, and BIM workflows (Revit, BIM 360).
  • Manage project teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure quality control across documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, accessibility requirements, and sustainability targets.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and authorities to secure approvals and permits.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, manage risk, and oversee change management.
  • Contribute to firm-wide design strategy, technical innovation, and proposal development.

Qualification

  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture (MArch or B.Arch); licensure in the US (AIA/NCARB) preferred.
  • 8+ years of professional experience on complex architectural projects.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and team-mentoring capabilities.
  • Proficiency in BIM and design software (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp) with advanced 3D visualization.
  • Deep knowledge of building codes, zoning, accessibility, and sustainability standards (LEED AP a plus).
