This role blends traditional records management with modern digital preservation, offering opportunities to influence policy, metadata standards, and long term access for generations to come.

As a Senior Archivist, you will shape our archival program by designing robust preservation workflows, implementing metadata schemas, and leading cross functional teams to deliver timely access to preserved materials. You will partner with IT, compliance, and curatorial staff to balance access, privacy, and risk while driving measurable improvements in data quality and retrieval efficiency.

We offer competitive compensation, flexible hybrid work options, comprehensive benefits, and a clear path for career growth in a fast paced, mission driven environment.

Responsibility

  • Lead the design and maintenance of metadata schemas for physical and digital collections.
  • Oversee digitization workflows, file formats, and preservation strategies to ensure long term accessibility.
  • Collaborate with IT, legal, and business units to manage access control, privacy, and risk management.
  • Coordinate archival appraisal, accessioning, and de-accessioning processes with cross functional teams.
  • Monitor performance metrics, produce reports, and advocate for continuous improvement of the archival program.

Qualification

  • Bachelor degree in library science, information management, history, or a related field; Master degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in archives or records management, preferably in a corporate or cultural heritage environment.
  • Strong knowledge of archival standards and metadata schemas such as Dublin Core, METS, PREMIS, and EAD.
  • Experience with archival management systems such as ArchivesSpace or AtoM; working knowledge of SQL and data modeling is a plus.
  • Demonstrated digital preservation and digitization project experience, including file formats, checksum validation, and integrity monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to translate complex archival concepts for stakeholders.
  • Project management skills and the ability to work across teams in a fast paced environment.
