Responsibility

  • Lead the design and validation of powertrain, chassis, or electrical systems for new vehicle programs.
  • Translate customer needs and regulatory requirements into robust technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure design for manufacturability and reliability.
  • Perform CAE analysis, test planning, and data interpretation to drive design optimization.
  • Develop and manage validation tests, including durability, NVH, and safety assessments.
  • Support design reviews and documentation in accordance with standards and PLM processes.
  • Potentially travel to supplier sites or manufacturing facilities for prototyping and testing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualification

  • Bachelor in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or related field; Master preferred.
  • 5+ years in automotive engineering, with hands on experience in powertrain, chassis, or electronics.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA) and PLM/ERP systems.
  • Experience with simulation tools (FEA/CFD), MATLAB, Python.
  • Understanding of automotive standards and safety regulations (ISO 26262, IATF 16949).
  • Proven problem solving, data analysis, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams and in fast paced environment.
  • Willingness to relocate to Detroit area or be location flexible as needed.
