BioNova Labs is seeking a results-driven Senior Biologist to lead and execute high-impact research projects in mammalian cell biology and translational science. This full-time role is based in Boston, MA and offers a collaborative, state-of-the-art lab environment with a focus on discovery, reproducibility, and meaningful scientific impact.
As a Senior Biologist, you will design and execute experiments, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to translate findings into next-generation therapies.
Responsibility
- Design, optimize, and execute molecular and cellular biology experiments with a focus on reproducibility and data quality.
- Lead project planning, timelines, and resource allocation for research programs in cell culture, gene expression, and functional assays.
- Supervise and mentor laboratory technicians and junior scientists; provide training on protocols, safety, and data management.
- Analyze experimental data using statistical software and bioinformatics tools; present findings to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with translational science teams to align research objectives with preclinical development goals.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records, ensure compliance with GLP/GCP guidelines, and uphold EH&S policies.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance experimental workflows and throughput.
- Prepare and contribute to manuscript drafts, study reports, and grant-related documentation.
Qualification
- PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field; or a Master's with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong expertise in mammalian cell culture, gene expression analysis (qPCR, RNA-Seq), and protein assays (ELISA, Western blot).
- Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and functional genomics is preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis using R, Python, or MATLAB; ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; proven track record of collaboration and cross-functional teamwork.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience mentoring junior scientists and coordinating project activities.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous record-keeping, and familiarity with GLP/GMP-like environments and EH&S compliance.
