Join a premier broadcasting team in Los Angeles. We are seeking a Senior Broadcast Engineer who can guide live and on demand content through modern IP-based workflows. This role blends engineering excellence with creative collaboration to deliver flawless on-air and OTT experiences.
As a core member of the technical operations group, you will own the playout, ingest, and distribution pipelines, ensure high uptime, and drive innovative broadcast solutions across multiple platforms.
Responsibility
- Lead daily live broadcast operations ensuring 24/7 uptime and broadcast quality.
- Own playout, automation, ingest, and master control systems; coordinate with production teams.
- Monitor video and audio metrics; perform QC and initiate optimization actions.
- Triaging and resolving on-air incidents; implement robust post-incident reports.
- Plan and execute preventative maintenance, equipment upgrades, and load balancing across facilities.
- Collaborate with IT, network, and editorial teams to implement IP-based workflows (SMPTE 2110, SMPTE 2022, NDI, SRT).
- Ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and documentation; maintain accurate logs and asset records.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Communications, IT, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years in broadcast engineering or operations, with live TV or streaming experience.
- Strong expertise with SDI and IP video workflows; familiarity with SMPTE standards and encoders/decoders.
- Experience with automation and playout systems; knowledge of tools such as Ross, Grass Valley, or comparable platforms.
- Proven troubleshooting skills under on-air pressure; incident response and recovery planning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities; willingness to work flexible hours and on-call as needed.
