Nova Broadcast Solutions is expanding its engineering team in Los Angeles and seeks a Senior Broadcast Engineer to ensure the reliability and quality of our live and on-demand productions.
In this role, you will lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of our studio and remote broadcasting infrastructure, oversee IP video workflows, and collaborate with producers, operators, and IT to deliver flawless broadcasts.

Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain the studio and control room infrastructure, including routing, switchers, encoders/decoders, and monitoring.
- Lead live production support to ensure uptime, establish robust incident response, and coordinate with operators during broadcasts.
- Manage IP-based video workflows (SMPTE 2110, NDI, RTMP/RTSP) and ensure smooth transitions between studio and remote deliveries.
- Implement automation, failover, and redundancy strategies for broadcast systems and media ingest pipelines.
- Troubleshoot equipment and network issues, document root causes, and drive preventative maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with production teams to plan technical requirements for shoots, events, and remote broadcasts.
- Maintain and document system configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in on-call rotations to support ongoing operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 5+ years of professional broadcast engineering experience in live television or streaming productions.
- Strong proficiency with SDI/HD-SDI, SMPTE 2110/2022, AMWA, and IP video architectures; experience with NDI.
- Experience with broadcast control room systems and automation platforms; familiarity with routing, switchers, and media servers.
- Knowledge of encoders/decoders, codecs, video formats, and compression pipelines.
- Proven disaster recovery, redundancy planning, and incident management capabilities.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills and meticulous documentation habits.
