Join Aurora Broadcasting Group, a leader in innovative live and on-demand content delivery. We are seeking a Senior Broadcast Engineer to design, install, and maintain robust broadcast infrastructure across our multi-platform operations. The ideal candidate will ensure peak reliability of studio, OB, and remote facilities, while driving modernization with IP-based workflows and automation.

In this role, you will collaborate with engineering, production, and IT teams to deliver high quality content with minimal downtime. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing, and validating new equipment and software, as well as supporting broadcast critical systems during live events.

We value hands-on expertise, problem solving mindset, and a customer-focused approach to ensure our signals reach audiences worldwide with the highest quality and reliability.

Responsibility

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain broadcast equipment including SDI/HDMI routing, video servers, routers, switchers, encoders/decoders, and automation systems.
  • Architect and support IP-based production workflows (SMPTE 2110, NDI, ST 2110, and related standards) across studio and field operations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot live production systems to ensure maximum uptime during broadcasts and events.
  • Lead upgrades and projects from planning through implementation, testing, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT and production teams to manage storage, backups, disaster recovery, and security for broadcast assets.
  • Provide on-call support for critical events and production shifts, including off-hours coverage as needed.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, runbooks, and training materials for engineering staff and operators.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on broadcast engineering experience in studio, OB van, or control room environments.
  • Deep expertise with both SMPTE 2110 IP video and SDI/HDMI video routing, multiviewers, and video servers.
  • Proficiency with automation, master control, and broadcast playout systems; familiarity with Ross, Vizrt, Grass Valley, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong Linux/Unix scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash) and fault isolation, plus familiarity with monitoring tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work under pressure during live events.
  • Willingness to be on-call for critical events; ability to work flexible hours and travel if required.
