Job description

VividWave Studios is seeking a highly skilled Senior Broadcast Engineer & Content Producer to lead live productions in a fast-paced studio environment in Los Angeles. In this role, you will architect and maintain broadcast systems, manage daily on air operations, and collaborate with editorial, IT and creative teams to deliver studio quality content across live and on demand platforms.

Responsibility

  • Lead the setup, operation and maintenance of studio broadcast systems including video switchers, routers, encoders, and automation platforms to ensure 99.9 uptime.
  • Plan and execute live productions for multi-camera shoots, webinars, and remote broadcasts with editorial and lighting teams.
  • Design and document scalable broadcast workflows, SOPs and on-air procedures; monitor SLAs and quality metrics.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in real time; participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
  • Collaborate with IT and network engineers to optimize IP-based workflows, streaming encoders, CDN delivery, and remote contribution.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, equipment procurement, maintenance contracts and set builds; manage budgets and timelines.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 5+ years of broadcast engineering or live production experience in a studio or network environment.
  • Deep knowledge of broadcast automation, routing, video server and graphics systems; hands-on with software like Ross or Viz Engine or similar.
  • Proficiency with multi-camera direction, audio routing, lighting, and on-air graphics workflows.
  • Strong understanding of IP video, video over IP, RTMP/HLS streaming, and CDN delivery.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to lead under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends or holidays for live events as required.
