You will partner with customers and suppliers to structure competitive bunker fuel deals, monitor price movements, manage risk, and ensure timely delivery. Responsibility
- Lead the customer bunker trading desk, developing and executing trading strategies to optimize margins and service levels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, brokers, and suppliers to generate repeat business.
- Negotiate and structure bunker fuel contracts, including price indexing and terms.
- Monitor global bunker fuel markets and physical supply dynamics to identify profitable opportunities and manage risk.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics to ensure timely deliveries and vessel turnaround efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with trade controls, KYC/AML, and internal policies; prepare management reports.
- Drive business development by identifying new customers and cross-selling value-added services; mentor junior traders.
- Provide market insights to internal stakeholders and contribute to process improvements.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, maritime studies, or a related field.
- 5+ years of bunker trading or physical commodities trading experience.
- Strong market analytics, numerical skills, and ability to interpret price indices and market data.
- Proficiency in trading platforms and CRM tools; advanced Excel skills; data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management.
- Knowledge of bunker fuel specifications, regulatory requirements, and supplier networks.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment; strong risk management and decision-making.
- Eligible to work in Singapore.
