In this role, you will lead cross-functional projects from concept to operation, driving efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance across facilities.

Responsibility

  • Lead the design, scale-up, and optimization of chemical processes from concept to commercial operation.
  • Develop robust process simulations (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and perform mass and energy balance analyses.
  • Lead HAZOPs, LOPA, and safety assessments to ensure safe and compliant operation.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, EHS, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Create and review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs, and capital project deliverables; manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Implement DOE studies and statistical analysis to improve process performance and yield.
  • Mentor junior engineers, prepare technical reports, and support regulatory submissions as needed.
  • Champion process safety culture and data-driven decision making across facilities.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master's preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in process design and scale-up in petrochemical, refining, or specialty chemicals
  • Proficiency with process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD)
  • Strong expertise in mass and energy balances, P&IDs, and process safety (HAZOP, LOPA)
  • Experience with DOE, statistical design of experiments, and optimization methods
  • Familiarity with GMP, regulatory compliance, and quality systems
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
  • US work authorization and willingness to relocate to Houston, TX
