Join Apex Chemical Solutions as a Senior Chemical Engineer in Houston, TX. You will lead innovative process design, scale-up, and optimization across our chemical production facilities. This role blends technical leadership with hands-on execution to deliver safe, sustainable, and economically compelling operations.
\nAs part of our engineering team, you will collaborate with Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain to drive performance improvements, advance technology development, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibility

- Lead design, optimization, and scale-up of chemical processes from concept to production, ensuring safety and reliability. \n
- Develop and review mass and energy balances, P&IDs, process descriptions, and equipment specifications. \n
- Conduct techno-economic analyses, CAPEX/OPEX estimates, and lifecycle assessments to support capital projects. \n
- Perform process safety reviews, hazard analyses, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. \n
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and R&D to implement process improvements and debottlenecking opportunities. \n
- Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional teams in projects and investigations. \n
- Lead data-driven optimization using process data, simulations, and DOE studies to improve yield, energy efficiency, and reliability. \n
- Oversee commissioning, start-up, and handover to operations for new or modified processes. \n
Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; Master’s preferred. \n
- 5+ years of process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or related industries. \n
- Strong proficiency with process simulation tools (ASPEN Plus, HYSYS) and process control concepts. \n
- Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specification development. \n
- Proven project management skills, including small-to-mid scale capital projects. \n
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities; PE license is a plus. \n
- Willingness to travel up to 10-15% for site assignments and vendor engagements. \n
